MONOCHROME MET MARATHON

The Met Gala is one of Fashion's biggest nights out and something to mark on the calendar if you derive any pleasure in fashion, celebrity or art.  It takes place annually in New York as a charity ball for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. Each year the theme of the current costume exhibit is carried into the dress code for the Met Gala and usually results in some memory making ensembles.
This year's exhibit was honouring Comme des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo, entitled “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between.”

So as the photos rolled in from the red carpet I dedicated the whole afternoon to sketching out as many outfits as I could. If you follow along on Instagram you'll know I spammed your feed with the following monochrome illustrations over a 6hour stretch.
Even though this was a serious sketch marathon (by the end of which I was starving) I loved the excuse to get in the fashion flow and enjoyed the playfulness of this year's theme.

I'd love to know who wore your favourite look?
